Tutor (Unemployed Provision)

Location: Manchester, Oldham, Burnley

Contributing towards high quality, effective and relevant learning experiences that are appropriate to the needs of individuallearners. This includes ensuring all sessions are adequately planned, training materials and resource packs are of a high standard and the delivery of training is of a high quality.


  • Support with the development and ongoing review of learner resources and workbooks, ensuring standards and learning outcomes are met and learners are stretched and challenged
  • Ensure up to date Schemes of Work, Session Plans and Lesson Plans are utilised, and they are continually reviewed and improved
  • Provide high level training to cohorts of learners across a number of subjects, embedding Functional Skills, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Prevent and Radicalisation
  • Ensuring all learners achieve ‘timely completions’ in line with agreed funding partner timescales
  • Identifying areas of concern with your cohorts and where necessary increase levels of engagement to ensure learners do not fall behind on programme
  • Ensuring learner reviews are received and processed in a timely manner and submitted to Administration Team in line with agreed timescales
  • Ensuring registers of attendance are taken and submitted to the Administration Team in line with agreed timescales
  • Supporting the IQA process, ensuring portfolios are submitted to IQAs in a timely manner in line with company policy
  • Support team and standardisation meetings with the department to ensure processes and procedures are adhered to along with discussing and implementing continual improvement plans
  • Support funding partners and EQS personnel during engagement visits when required
  • Supporting other Heads of Department to ensure the full quality assurance and customer service processes are streamlined, seamless and offer the highest levels of service to the customer

Additional responsibilities:

  • To represent Free2Learn to the highest standards at all times, ensuring the highest levels of customer service are maintained and integrity remains throughout
  • To participate in the organisational responsibility for maintaining a healthy and safe environment, taking reasonable decision regarding personal safety and safety of colleagues in line with the health and safety and lone working policy
  • To implement the Equality and Diversity policy in every aspect of the role, raising any contravention of the policy to the HR Manager and to address any wrongdoing in the organisation

Qualifications and Skills

  • Desirable – Assessor qualification / IQA qualification / Team Leading
  • Essential – Teaching qualification / Literacy, Numeracy and ICT


  • 5 years’ experience of working in vocational training with a proven track record in training delivery
  • Experienced management skills (management of teams/individuals and/or processes)
  • High level of understanding of funded training and contractual obligations with key stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment (Ofsted, Ofqual etc…)
  • Skills (e.g. Shorthand Speed, IT Competence on Specific Software, Communication Skills)
  • Project management skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management
  • Fully PC literate

Office Administrator Assistant

Full time position: Monday – Friday 9am 5pm.

The office administrator assistant will assist in the management of all administration

  • To deliver high quality lessons and assess learners in your allocated cohorts.

  • Possess a relevant teaching qualification: e.g. Level 3 PTLLS/AET; Level 4 CTLLS/CET; Level 5 DTLLS/DET; CertEd; B.Ed; PGCE
  • Possess a Level 2 /GCSE Grade C qualification in English and Maths or a willingness to achieve within a specified period e.g. Functional Skills Level 2; GCSE/O’ Level English or Maths at Grade C or above.

  • Must have 3 years experience of teaching in a classroom environment
  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety requirements.

Receptionist £16,000 – £19,000


  • Serve visitors by greeting and directing them appropriately;
  • A point of contact for departments, ensuring complete synchronisation between all departments;
  • Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls when necessary  providing basic information when needed;
  • Update calendars and schedule appointments;
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating etc.


  • Computer literate (proficient in Microsoft Office)
  • Professional appearance
  • Ideally the right candidate would have previous experience in admin or a receptionist role
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Ability to organise, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure.
