Learning hours: 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday
Start date: Each Monday, every week
Week 1: Certificate of Introduction to Construction
- Understand the identified industry / sector
- Understand the different types of career opportunities available in the sector
- Know about different types of organisations offering career opportunities
Week 2: Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
- Know the principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and
- safety at work
- Know the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace
- Know the importance of working safely at height in the workplace
- Know risks to health within a construction environment
- Know the importance of working around plant and equipment safely
Week 3: Level 1 Certificate in Personal Development and Employability Skills
- Career Planning
- Planning for personal development
- Health and Safety in the workplace
- CV Writing
- Searching for a Job
- Interview Skills
- Preparation for work
- 19 years or older
- Proof of benefits and an ID, such as valid passport or driving licence (provisional is also accepted together with birth certificate)
- If not British, we require a resident card/permit issued on the 2017 or before as a proof of living in the UK lawfully for more than 3 years
- If you are a member of the EU, we require a picture of your passport, pre-settled or settled status shared code.
