his course has been developed specifically for operatives from related trades or those with some previous gas experience who are seeking gas qualifications for the first time. You must hold a relevant NVQ in gas or plumbing or a certificate from an approved prior learning gas scheme to be able to enrol on this course. You also need to be working with a Gas Safe engineer to gather a portfolio of evidence. The course will offer you the theory and practical skills to cover the knowledge and understanding to work safely in the commissioning, servicing and installation of domestic pipe work and appliances.
How long will this course take me to complete?
10 days in total, 1 day a week or 2 weeks intensive training.
•Gas Legislation, Building Regulations and British Standards.
•Principles of Combustion, the combustion process and effects of CO poisoning.
•The use of the flue combustion analyser and interpretation of readings obtained.
•Purpose of Ventilation and requirements for gas appliances.
•Principles of Flueing and Chimney design.
•Function and operation of gas safety controls.
•Domestic natural gas pipework, design and installation.
•CPA1-combustion performance analyser assessment.
•Preparation for ACS assessment process.
•ACS Written Papers.
•ACS Practical assessments.
